About 1066 Archery Club

The Club was initially founded in 1985 and has been at its’ current location just outside Tenterden since 2008.

Our grounds are leased solely for use by the Club, so members are able to shoot 7-days a week throughout the year.

Members shoot the four key bow styles, recurve, barebow, longbow and compound, with some members becoming proficient in shooting more than one bow type.

Outdoor Range

The Club’s outdoor range is permanently set-out meaning that all members need to do is pin a a target face to a boss and the field is ready.

The outdoor range has 12-target faces set-out at distances from 20yds up to 100yds allowing us to accommodate both beginners and experienced archers. The target frames are a mixture of fixed and wheeled, movable targets that ensure that members can shoot every imperial or metric round defined by Archery GB and World Archery without much effort.

The field configuration is such that club shoots can accommodate archers of all abilities at the same time.

There is level access from the car park via a concrete path. The concrete path also extends the full width of the shooting line, ensuring we are wheelchair friendly even during the wet winter months.

Indoor Range

The Club’s Indoor Range is alongside the outdoor range and is a “polytunnel” design providing protection from the elements year round. The indoor range has electrical lighting and the Club has permission from Ashford Borough Council to shoot up to 9:00pm using the lighting.

The indoor range has 5-target faces and allows members to shoot at 18m and 20-yds distances.

There is level access from the car park via a concrete path to the indoor range.
